Frequently Asked Questions
Is DiagnoStack really free?
Yes — every tool is free with no account, sign-up, or usage cap beyond the fair-use rate limits that protect the live-check tools from abuse. The site is supported by affiliate links, not by charging for tools.
Do you store the domains, IPs, or text I submit?
No. There's no database on this site. Calculators run entirely in your browser. The live-check tools (DNS, WHOIS, TLS, port, blacklist checkers) send what you submit to this server only long enough to perform the lookup and return the result — nothing is written to persistent storage. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Is it legal to use the Port Checker or Network Diagnostics on any host?
Only run these against domains, servers, or IPs you own or have clear authorization to test. Using network scanning tools against systems you don't control can be illegal depending on your jurisdiction, regardless of what any website's terms say. See the Terms of Service for the full acceptable-use policy.
What do the dashed "planned" tags on the homepage mean?
Those are tools that are on the roadmap but not built yet — clicking one registers your interest and directly influences what gets built next. It's an honest way to show the full plan for the site without linking to something that doesn't exist yet.
How do the affiliate links work — does clicking one cost me anything?
No extra cost to you. If you click an affiliate link (mostly to cloud/hosting providers) and later sign up, DiagnoStack may earn a commission. Cost comparisons in the tools themselves aren't biased toward affiliate partners — they show whichever provider is actually cheapest for the numbers you entered.
Why do some checks take a few seconds to run?
The live-check tools (DNS lookups, TLS checks, port checks, WHOIS, blacklist checks) perform a real network request at the moment you submit the form — they're not showing you a cached result from someone else's earlier scan. That's the whole point of using them over asking a generic AI assistant, which can't reach out and check your actual live infrastructure.
Can I request a new tool?
Yes — email hello@diagnostack.cloud with what you're looking for. The roadmap chips on the homepage (Network, Configure, and Troubleshoot clusters especially) already list several tools planned next; clicking one is the fastest way to vote for it.
Do you have an API?
Not currently. Every tool is a normal web form designed for interactive use in a browser.
Is my data safe when I use the WHOIS/DNS/Port tools?
The domain, IP, or URL you submit is used only to perform the specific lookup you asked for, over a live connection initiated at that moment. It isn't logged to a database, associated with your identity, or shared with anyone beyond what's inherently necessary to perform a DNS/WHOIS/TCP lookup (which are, by design, public protocols — a WHOIS or DNS lookup for a domain is visible information regardless of which tool performs it).
