About DiagnoStack
Why this exists
Most "IT tools" sites are the same dozen calculators wrapped in slightly different themes, built to catch search traffic rather than to actually help. DiagnoStack started from a different question: what would a tools site look like if it were built by someone who actually does this work — sizing clusters, chasing down a 502, arguing about connection pool defaults — rather than someone assembling generic utilities to monetize?
That's the bar every tool here is held to. Some of them do genuinely non-trivial work under the hood — the CIDR & IP Range Toolkit performs real route-summarization math, not a lookup table; the DNS Propagation Checker and DNSSEC Validator hand-build raw DNS packets in PHP because the built-in functions don't support what's needed. Where a tool is simple, it's simple because the underlying problem is simple — not because it was thrown together.
How the site is organized
Instead of one flat list of tools, DiagnoStack is organized around how infrastructure work actually happens:
- Plan — how much do I need? (capacity, sizing, cost calculators)
- Network — how should I configure my infrastructure? (subnet, CIDR, DNS tools)
- Check — is it configured correctly? (health, TLS, email auth checkers)
- Configure — generate the config, not just the theory (Nginx, Docker, firewall, systemd generators)
- Troubleshoot — why is this broken? (guided diagnostics for common failures)
- Optimize — make it perform better (PHP-FPM, database, cache tuning)
A supporting Utilities section holds the everyday dev tools (regex, JSON, cron, hashing) that are useful but not infrastructure-specific on their own.
How it's paid for
Every tool on this site is free, with no account or sign-up required. Some pages include affiliate/referral links — mostly to cloud and hosting providers relevant to what that specific calculator is helping you decide. If you click one and sign up, DiagnoStack may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. These links are disclosed plainly wherever they appear, and no tool's results are biased toward a particular provider to drive clicks — the cost comparisons show whichever provider is actually cheapest for your numbers.
What DiagnoStack doesn't do
No accounts, no database of your data, no selling your information. The live-check tools (DNS, TLS, port checks, and similar) process what you submit only long enough to answer your request — see the Privacy Policy for the exact detail.
